Welcome to the New Website!
www.crasc.ca has been updated with an improved look and feel to offer visitors easier navigation and more comprehensive information. The redesign is part of the Commission's commitment to provide its members with the most complete assessment services possible.
2010 Assessment Review Board Services Year
There were 26 members of CRASC who joined the Assessment Review Board Program in its first year with 3 electing not to, including the Town of Onoway and the Summer Villages of Silver Beach and Sundance Beach. As well, a total of 7 "Non-Members" joined as participants in CRASC's ARB Program including the Towns of Bon Accord, Westlock, Legal, and Slave Lake and the Summer Villages of Whispering Hills, Island Lake South and Mewatha Beach.
That brings the total participating municipalities to 33.
CRASC maintained a pool of 17 qualified panelists who could be called upon to form individual Boards as needed for the hearings. Each individual successfully completed 2 courses set out by the Government of Alberta.
During the mandatory 60 day complaint period there were 63 Local Assessment Review Board (LARB) Complaints filed and 24 Composite Assessment Review Board (CARB) Complaints filed. However, the majority of these were resolved before reaching a hearing and were withdrawn. Consequently, we successfully held just 6 LARB and 5 CARB hearings in 2010.
